Simply throwing the grenades and having them die from it will never count. You must MELEE-ATTACH the Frag Grenade for it to count.
If you see the pistol emblem come up when you get the kill, you know it has counted. Also, to be safe, stay at distance so it will not count as an execution. Make sure you do not get a headshot when the player is down, as it will not count as a pistol kill. With the pistol, a full clip will down the opponent. You will be using the Snub Pistol, which is the pistole that you conveniently spawn with. Round 1: Longshot (WITH A HEADSHOT - this counts towards "The Money Shot" achievement) & Pistol. *This following solution is given credit to TSG Dwaggie.
